Outcome

A clearer electrical services website, with a more confident design and an easier route to an enquiry.

Brightwire Electrical serves domestic and commercial customers in Fair Oak, Eastleigh and the surrounding Hampshire area. Its previous website already explained the business and promoted EV charging, but the opening screen concentrated heavily on a single product-led message. The redesign gives EV charging, domestic electrical work and commercial services a clearer place in the customer journey, while retaining the familiar Brightwire identity.

Objectives

What the project needed to achieve.

  • Give the existing Brightwire brand a bolder, more consistent website presentation.
  • Make EV charging, domestic and commercial services easier to explore.
  • Bring quote and telephone actions closer to relevant service information.
  • Improve the experience across desktop, tablet and mobile screens.
  • Develop useful service content and local search foundations.
  • Review accessibility against WCAG 2.2 AA.

Solution

A website shaped around clearer decisions.

Giraffe Digital reorganised the website around the decisions an electrical customer needs to make: what work is available, whether it suits their property, which areas are covered and how to discuss the next step. A more compact header, confident typography, service navigation and consistent quote prompts work alongside practical guidance and a responsive layout. Dedicated service pages create room for clearer explanations instead of placing every detail in a broad category list.

01

Three clear service routes for EV charging, domestic electrical work and commercial customers.

02

Quote prompts and telephone actions placed alongside the information visitors are reading.

03

Dedicated pages for consumer units, rewiring, lighting, electrical testing, fault finding, commercial lighting, and security and data.

04

A clearer mobile layout, with a compact menu and direct contact actions.

05

Practical service answers and more explicit local business information for search interpretation.

Design

The same recognisable brand. A stronger first impression.

The Brightwire logo and blue identity remain familiar, while the layout gives the message more room to work. A concise header, larger headline and an independent image replace the older, darker product-led opening. The new composition introduces the wider electrical service offer before visitors choose a route.

Service cards, clearer page sections and a more organised footer give the website a consistent visual language. On mobile, the header becomes more compact and the content reflows into a simple reading order.

Conversion rate optimisation

Make the next step clear at the right moment.

CRO means conversion rate optimisation. For Brightwire, the priority is to help a prospective customer move from understanding a service to making a useful enquiry. Consistent quote prompts, visible telephone options and relevant contact links reduce the effort of finding that next step.

Practical explanations of surveys, installation requirements and electrical work help visitors decide what to ask before contacting the team. The enquiry journey supports a conversation about the work; it does not present a quotation request as a confirmed booking.

SEO, local search and GEO

Useful service detail. Clear local relevance.

Search engine optimisation starts with a clear account of the business and its services. The redesign expands broad service lists into dedicated pages, with descriptive headings, relevant internal links and practical answers about the work. Fair Oak, Eastleigh and the surrounding Hampshire service area are explained in context.

Generative engine optimisation, or GEO, considers how AI-assisted search systems interpret a business and its services. Clear business information, structured data and practical question-and-answer content help explain what Brightwire does and where it works. The focus is on useful, readable information rather than repeated location keywords.

Accessibility

WCAG 2.2 AA compliant.

Brightwire Electrical's 19 public website pages are WCAG 2.2 AA compliant, as confirmed by the assessment completed on 27 October 2026. The assessment covers shared navigation, consent choices and the complete public enquiry process, including embedded Cloudflare Turnstile verification, validation, error recovery and confirmation.

The review combined automated checks with manual testing of keyboard navigation, contrast, text resizing and reflow. Screen-reader checks used VoiceOver with Chrome on macOS. Improvements include clearer form boundaries, improved menu focus, visible enquiry feedback and consent controls that remain usable on narrow screens.

Brightwire's accessibility statement sets out the 19 assessed pages, the technologies used and the assessment methods.

About the Brightwire Electrical redesign.

What changed in the Brightwire Electrical redesign?

The redesign retains the Brightwire identity while introducing a clearer service structure, bolder typography, a more compact header and consistent quote actions. Actual before-and-after desktop and mobile captures are shown above.

How does the website support local SEO?

Dedicated service pages, relevant internal links and explicit business and service-area information give visitors and search engines a clearer account of Brightwire’s electrical work in Fair Oak, Eastleigh and the surrounding Hampshire area.

What does AI search or GEO mean in this project?

Generative engine optimisation describes making useful information easier for AI-assisted search systems to interpret. In this project, that means clear service explanations, practical answers and structured business information. It is part of the content and search foundation, rather than a claim of a particular ranking or recommendation.
